MEC 149 - Mechanical Drawings


Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3

Description: This course covers the interpretation of various types of mechanical drawings.  It includes assembly drawing, detail drawings, fluid power schematics, and other types of mechanical drawings commonly used in industry.

Prerequisite(s): MEC 102 , MEC 110 , and MEC 130 .

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F =   0 - 59


Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon competition of the course the student will be able to:

  1. Identify various mechanical and fluid power components used in prints and other technical drawings
  2. Classify different types of mechanical drawings
  3. Understand how to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  4. Identify physical components using symbols found in mechanical drawings.
